Mongolia’s Breakthrough on Netflix’s Physical: 100 Asia

Mongolia is the 19th-largest country in the world, yet the least densely populated. Aside from the legacy of Chinggis Khaan, who conquered half the world in the 13th century, many people still know very little about Mongolia. This is also reflected in tourism statistics—only around 800,000 travelers visit Mongolia each year. Of course, infrastructure and short travel seasons play a role in this number.
On 28 October 2025, Netflix Korea launched Physical: 100 Asia, following the success of the original Physical: 100 (2 seasons). The new show features eight teams: Mongolia, Korea, Australia, Japan, Turkey, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
From the very first episode, Mongolia captured the attention of viewers worldwide. Their unique introduction, strong teamwork, smart leadership decisions, extraordinary endurance, quick problem-solving, and creative strategies stood out—especially considering they were not the physically strongest team compared to some of their competitors.
Now, Mongolia has become a trending topic on social platforms like Threads, Instagram, and TikTok. One popular post reads:
loreenbuenavida: “Ayooooo Team Mongolia needs to be studied because what do you mean they unloaded their cart so efficiently, pushed it up the hill, reloaded the crates like Tetris attacked the gate at the perfect angle, pushed the wheels instead of the cart… AND used the ram and their weight to close the bridge? Are they telepathic? Do they know exactly what everyone should be doing—and are they connected to ChatGPT because they solve problems ingeniously???”

We would like to express our HUGE gratitude to Netflix’s production team for allowing our outstanding athletes to represent Mongolia and show the world who we are. For many viewers, Mongolia was completely new, and now they are reading about Mongolian history, planning trips here, and especially showing interest in experiencing Mongolian wrestling (Bökh).
